Rooty is a kangaroo who is a friend of Maple and Cobbler's. They own a company called Rooty's Floats, where they make a variety of different sodas and ice creams, but mainly their trademark root beer. They're quite peppy and always happy to chat.

In the context of a video game, Rooty serves as a race NPC. Only unlockable towards the end of each world, Rooty tests the player's knowledge of each area by challenging Maple and Cobbler to a race. Rooty can jump very high and can spring up even higher with their tail, allowing them to cut huge gaps; but they try to keep it fair overall.
